Tools

The tools we have selected are either durable, recyclable, reusable, or biodegradable. In the case of tools with metal components, the metal should be removed from the rest of the implement for recycling. For example, a metal shovelhead can be removed from its wooden handle and recycled as scrap metal at the Tompkins County Recycling and Solid Waste Center in the Public Drop-Off area. Metal that has been painted or that has a plastic coating is also okay to recycle.
